Sophie is a Trainee Solicitor having joined Parnalls in May 2022, working predominantly in the litigation department at the firm.

Sophie studied law at the University of Plymouth and will graduate in September 2022. Sophie has also completed the University of Exeter’s ‘Pathways to Law’ scheme prior to her degree and will complete her Legal Practice Course whilst working here at Parnalls.

During her time at university, Sophie developed a keen interest in dispute resolution through her studies alongside entering Law Society competitions in both negotiations, client interviewing and advocacy which have influenced her desire for a career in litigation.

She particularly enjoyed studying employment law and family law, devoting her dissertation to the recent changes in matrimonial law through the removal of fault-based divorce and the enactment of the Divorce, Dissolution and Separation Act 2020.

Outside of work, Sophie enjoys boating on the river Tamar with friends, renovating her new home and sea swimming around Cornwall.
