Katherine Flashman Kitson attends Charity Concert

Parnalls Solicitors Katherine Flashman Kitson attended St Mary’s Church, Penzance and its NightChurch Penzance for a Concert with Rhys. About six months ago Rhys was homeless and attended the Night Church at St Mary’s and asked if they had a piano, which they did and he sat down to play. This was captured on video and went viral. Rhys returned to the Church at his instigation to perform in concert to raise money for Night Church and St Mary’s and the work they do to help support people. Katherine says “It is hard to put into words what this concert was like, how it made you feel and what it meant. Rhys is an amazing pianist. He played a vast range of music from Coldplay to Hans Zimmer to Chopin. There was quite literally something for everyone. The audience listened spellbound, and we sang and we danced. But the magic of the concert was not only in Rhys’s technical ability, although that was astounding, it is the emotion with which he plays and which he inputs into every note. One can quite literally feel it. This is not music for entertainment, it is music from the soul, for the soul. Honestly, it was one of the most moving musical experiences I have ever been to. I am so glad it has highlighted the work that Night Church does, which clearly was an actual lifeline in Rhys’s case. Music and Night Church saved his life”.
