Parnalls Solicitors Katherine Flashman Kitson attended the exhibition at the Dulwich Picture Gallery – Yoshida – Three Generations of Japanese Printmaking. The exhibition shines a spotlight on three generations of woodblock print artists including the prolific artist and patriarch of the family, Hiroshi to the abstract work of the family’s later and current generations culminating in a site specific installation of cherry blossom by Yoshida Ayomi, Hiroshi’s granddaughter. Katherine says “a fantastic exhibition, to see the work of three generations of the same family in this art medium. The final exhibit, the installation of cherry blossom by Ayomi was utterly charming, not quite like being in Japan at cherry blossom time, but as close as we can get in Britain in October”.
