Director at Parnalls Solicitors, Katherine Flashman Kitson, has joined the Board of Governors of St Joseph’s School Launceston. Parnalls like St Joseph’s are longstanding institutions in the town both having premises in the town dating back to the 1920s. Both establishments are equally important to the town’s heritage and with a nod to the future they remain a strong presence in the community.
Katherine commented on her new appointment “I am happy and proud to be appointed as a Governor to St Joseph’s. I am a great believer in the importance of education, and in giving young people the very best start in life. St Joseph’s is an inclusive school, which helps each child whatever their abilities, achieve his or her full potential. Young people are the future and I am very happy to invest in them.”
Oliver Scott Head Teacher at St Joseph’s commented “We are delighted to have someone with Katherine’s experience joining the Board of Governors of St Joseph’s school, and I would like to thank her personally for the commitment she has made by volunteering for what is such an important position. The Board are invaluable for their support of the school, and for their role in ensuring the highest standards are maintained. It is a source of real pride that Katherine is re-joining the St Joseph’s community given her former connections to the school, and her experiences as a parent means she has a real sense of the school’s past, and I am sure will be a key member of the board as we look to build for the future. She has a very real sense of the values of the school, and the value of education, particularly in the independent sector. I would like to thank her on behalf of all here at St Joseph’s for her time and her future advice.”
Katherine trained and has worked as a Litigator throughout her legal career and heads the Litigation Department at Parnalls where this year she celebrated her 21st year and conducts various types of litigation work.
