Katherine Flashman Kitson attended Meeting Minds Oxford, a lecture by Hollywood producer Celine Rattray at St Hildas College of which she is an alumnus. Celine Rattray has some 40 independent films under her belt as a producer and has won many awards, including a golden globe and nomination for an academy awards for The Kids Are Alright.
Katherine Flashman Kitson says “Celine told us how her production company picks stories that have great female roles and how looking at female roles within a script they ask themselves “does the woman drive the story forward?” they are looking for the story where the woman is driving the action, not just playing a best friend or confidant to some other character. I am really excited to see her new releases Eleanor The Great directed by Scarlett Johanson and a new version of a Christmas Carol which is close to my heart as it is a favourite Dickens story of mine”.
