Parnalls Solicitors Katherine Flashman Kitson and Stephen Robillard attended the Dartmoor Gliding Society to fly a glider. Katherine says “I was lucky enough to win a bid for a gliding lesson with Gavin Short of the Society to support the Harrowbarrow and Metherell Community Shop Appeal. Steve already has his Pilots Licence and was keen to try gliding too. We had a super introduction and briefing by Gavin. Unfortunately on this occasion winds were too strong for us gliding rookies to fly, but we will be rescheduling to experience gliding over the beautiful Dartmoor. The Society is open to beginners and new members, including young people and this is clearly a wonderful activity. As a Firm we have a significant aviation history and indeed the Parnall Group continue to work on the Spitfire at Trelonk, so experiencing another aspect of aviation in our local area is very exciting, and who knows, maybe it will be a new passion for us”.
